Starry’s Studio, a new guest house two blocks off of Fredericksburg’s Main Street that combines unique, modern design with Hill Country touches.
With a Scandinavian-style, artistic space that defies the city’s shabby-chic reputation, Starry’s Studio is everything that is new and hip about Fredericksburg.
The on-site guest book is brimming with glowing reviews, and the property currently enjoys only five-star reviews on Airbnb. After spending an evening there, I can’t help but agree. We couldn’t have had a better visit.
The bed & breakfasts [in Fredericksburg] are so lovely. There’s one called Starry’s Studio, and it is the most peaceful, beautiful little enclave you’ve ever seen, and it just totally takes you away.
Starry describes it as “mid-century modern,” a place with clean lines, a few antiques and eclectic. It’s still has the feel of an art studio, as paintings from herself [Melissa Starry] and various local artists such as Joyce Combs, Barry Bradley, Del Benedict, Ira Kennedy and Laurie Mahling adorn the walls.
